Asobo, known today as the Microsoft Flight Simulator developer, created groundbreaking technology for large scale maps that was intended to be used in a high quality rally raid title. It was never released and ended up as FUEL, a post-apocalyptic open-world racing game. What happened?

Video game development is rarely about one man, but if it was, then Terence Groening should certainly get a mention for his contributions to the genre as the man responsible for the physics of Sportscar GT, EA’s PC F1 and NASCAR games of the early 2000’s, rFactor, rFactor 2 and every title and rFpro simulator that spawned from ISI’s engine.

This interview with RSC details his early life and career, through to him joining iRacing in 2021.

iRacing Status

A new screen has been added to the iRacing Companion App: iRacing Status!
This page reflects much of the same information and content you can find on the iRacing Status web page: https://status.iracing.com/
– – Here you are able to check at a glance what iRacing services are up or down, and see their recent status.
Through the iRacing Companion App, a new push notification will now be generated whenever iRacing officially goes down for a deployment or maintenance, and you will receive another whenever iRacing is live again.
– – This can be disabled in the App at the following location: Settings > Notifications > iRacing Maintenance.

Standings

A new Standings widget has been added to the Single Series screen.
– – This will show the Top 5 or your position and the four closest positions if you are present in the standings.
New Standings Screens have been added for:

– – Team Standings
– – TT Standings
– – TT Results
– – Qualifying Results
– – Super Sessions Standings

Cache

A huge number of application data calls have been upgraded, which means a significant decrease in cache time for your data – from as long as 24 hours, down to 15 minutes!
