iRacing has deployed another update that fixes a large number of things the community should be looking forward to. I did laugh at this one: “Chain fence stiffness and damping have been reduced to prevent drivers riding up the walls and driving on the fence.”

SIMULATION:

Physics

– Chain fence stiffness and damping have been reduced to prevent drivers riding up the walls and driving on the fence.

New Damage Model

– Some great advancements in our New Damage Model algorithms and processes have been made. These are system-wide changes that impact all vehicles that have the New Damage Model enabled. With our latest testing we are very happy with many of these results and are sending those updates your way. However, more work remains for some vehicles to be re-balanced with these changes. As such, we are only re-enabling the New Damage Model for the Street Stock car with this Patch 3. The remaining vehicles which will remain on Original Damage Model for the time being include:

– – ARCA Menards Chevrolet Impala

– – NASCAR Chevrolet Monte Carlo – 1987

– – NASCAR Ford Thunderbird – 1987

Visual Effects

– Fixed an issue where sparks could appear to stretch when using some Replay cameras.

CARS:

Aston Martin DBR9 GT1

– For the New Damage Model, several adjustments have been made, including:

– – Wheel strengths have been adjusted.

– – Break limits for body panel mounts have been reduced.

– – Body panel scrape damage thresholds have been increased.

Audi RS 3 LMS

– For the New Damage Model, several adjustments have been made, including:

– – Wheel strengths have been adjusted.

– – Wheels are more resistant to large hits, and now take minor damage more gradually.

– – Wheel mount durability has been increased.

– – Wheel hyper-extension distances have been reduced to prevent elements from sticking through hood.

– – Body panel scrape damage thresholds have been increased.

– – Large bumps and curbs inflict reduced scrape damage.

BMW M4 GT4

– For the New Damage Model, several adjustments have been made, including:

– – Wheel strengths have been adjusted.

– – Wheels are more resistant to large hits, and now take minor damage more gradually.

– – Vehicle body properties have been adjusted to transfer forces more accurately around the vehicle and to and from the wheels.

– – Mirror tethers have been added.

Chevrolet Corvette C6.R GT1

– For the New Damage Model, several adjustments have been made, including:

Dallara F3

– – Spring damper limits have been updated to prevent severe damage from large curb strikes.

– – Chassis stiffness has been adjusted to allow for more stability in collisions.

– – Break limits for body panel mounts have been reduced.

– Brake bias may now be adjusted when a Fixed Setup is in use.

Global Mazda MX-5 Cup

– – Spring damper limits have been updated to prevent severe damage from large curb strikes.

– – Suspension yield limits have been adjusted to allow for gradual bending as damage increases.

– – Mirror tethers have been added.

Indy Pro 2000 PM-18

– For the New Damage Model, several adjustments have been made, including:

– – Wheel strengths have been adjusted.

– – Lateral wheel strengths have been adjusted to allow for minor damage more easily.

– – Spring damper limits have been reduced to allow for blowing a spring damper on occasion.

Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO

– Fixed an issue where the GT3 Series lumirank windshield digits when incorrectly disabled with the addition of the unique IMSA Series additions.

McLaren 570s GT4

– For the New Damage Model, several adjustments have been made, including:

– – Wheel strengths have been adjusted.

– – Wheels are more resistant to large hits, and now take minor damage more gradually.

– – Vehicle body properties have been adjusted to transfer forces more accurately around the vehicle and to and from the wheels.

– – Mirror tethers have been added.

Mercedes-AMG GT3

– Fixed a minor texture issue with the rear windshield.

– Fixed an issue where the UI image for this vehicle was incorrect in several instances.

NASCAR Cup Series Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

– While running at Darlington Raceway, this vehicle now visually utilizes a low downforce setup. The front windshield banner now shows the driver’s last name and all driver names use proper fonts for the 2021 season.

NASCAR Cup Series Ford Mustang

– While running at Darlington Raceway, this vehicle now visually utilizes a low downforce setup. The front windshield banner now shows the driver’s last name and all driver names use proper fonts for the 2021 season.

– – Broken wheels are easier to detach.

– – Nose and rear vehicle stiffness has been increased, but these areas remain fragile.

– – Spring dampers may now break independently from wheel mounts.

Street Stock

– The New Damage Model has been re-enabled for this vehicle!

– For the New Damage Model, several adjustments have been made, including:

– – Wheel break limits have been increased to prevent wheels from taking significant damage.

– – Wheel yield limits have been lowered to allow wheels take minor damage more easily.

– – wheel mounts have been generally strengthened.

– – Plastic rates on the wheel mounts have been reduced.

– – Damping rates on the wheel mounts have been increased.

– – Rear wheel damping has been adjusted to improve the ability for collision forces to be transferred to the rest of the vehicle.

– – Suspension plastic rates have been reduced so that minor damage comes in more steadily and slowly.

– – Suspension yield limits have been adjusted to allow for gradual bending as damage increases.

– – Yield limits on the rear, sides, and fenders have been increased.

– – Yield limits on the nose have been decreased.

– – The breaking threshold for many vehicle panels has been reduced.

– – Vehicle collision shapes have been updated.

– – Nose and rear scrape damage thresholds have been improved.

USF 2000
