Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Video game development is full of names that have made groundbreaking steps you’ve never even heard about. Shawn Nash is a behind-the-scenes pioneer responsible for SODA Off Road Racing’s incredible physics, Papyrus’ graphical advancements and iRacing’s use of laser scan data for the physical track surfaces.
This interview with RSC, published in 2021, details his early life and career, through both his own company, Papyrus, Electronic Arts, to his time at iRacing.
While they may not have released a major update since November (unless you count the track release in December), Competition Company appear to have been diligently working away behind the scenes if the recently released 2024 roadmap is any indication.
The next update, due next week, will add some really nice features. Check them out below and check out their recent YouTube upload for further detail.
Still expected for 2024:
Q1 (March 27) – Time trials, Porsche Mission R, Day/Night Cycles, Goodwood Hillclimb
Q2 (TBC) – New car class, Ranking System, New Tracks, New Features
Q3 (TBC) – Early Access
Q4 (TBA) – Endurance
There are no details on the roadmap of what the Q3 and Q4 updates will actually contain, and it clearly ends with the Rennsport logo and “2025”.
