Video game development is rarely about one man, but if it was, then Terence Groening should certainly get a mention for his contributions to the genre as the man responsible for the physics of Sportscar GT, EA’s PC F1 and NASCAR games of the early 2000’s, rFactor, rFactor 2 and every title and rFpro simulator that spawned from ISI’s engine.
This interview with RSC details his early life and career, through to him joining iRacing in 2021.

EA have released the first patch for NASCAR 2000. You can see the release notes below.
Wall Friction: Light side collisions with the walls do not grab the user’s car as excessively.
Controller Support: ACT Labs RS Shifter support added.
Controller Support: Gravis Exterminator Paddle support added for gas/brake or steering.
Gameplay: Racing back to the line under short pit conditions at short tracks has been improved.
Artificial Intelligence: An AI issue involving damaged cars has been resolved.

1. Download the patch. We recommend saving the file to your desktop.
2. When download is complete, locate the patch file and double-click it. You are prompted to find the NASCAR 2000.exe file on your hard drive.
3. Once you find the NASCAR 2000.exe file (by default it is in the C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NASCAR 2000 folder), click it to highlight it then click the Open button.
4. When asked if it is OK to patch the NASCAR 2000 program. Click YES if you selected the correct file. (Click CANCEL if you have selected the wrong file.)
5. When the patch is installed, please locate and delete all user save files in the USERSAV folder (C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NASCAR 2000\Usersav) where your NASCAR 2000 program is found.
6. You can confirm that the patch worked next time you start NASCAR 2000 if the Main Menu screen reads ‘v1.01’ at the bottom left.
