Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.

Video game development is full of names that have made groundbreaking steps you’ve never even heard about. Shawn Nash is a behind-the-scenes pioneer responsible for SODA Off Road Racing’s incredible physics, Papyrus’ graphical advancements and iRacing’s use of laser scan data for the physical track surfaces.

This interview with RSC, published in 2021, details his early life and career, through both his own company, Papyrus, Electronic Arts, to his time at iRacing.

Motorsport Games today announced the first licensed IndyCar title since 2005, and what I’d hope to be the first really good one since 1995.

It’s honestly been ridiculous that IndyCar has been largely ignored in the gaming space for all these years, and although I firmly believe it’s a victim of it’s own demise with the split affecting how licensing was done ever since, it really does appear that time is over. IndyCar has been on the up for a few years and clearly that’s been recognized.

You can see the full statement below, but here are the major news snippets from it:

– First game coming 2023.
– Long-term license (multiple titles?)
– Official eSports IndyCar Series coming.

This is also probably a good time to announce that I start work for Motorsport Games and with Studio 397 on Monday.
