Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.
In a post on their Patreon a couple of weeks ago it was confirmed that the FIAT Lingotto rooftop track is coming to Ages of Speed. I won’t share any of the full resolution renders, though Patreon members got to see 24 of them.
The track, best known by many for featuring in The Italian Job, was a test track built on the roof of the Fiat factory in Turin. It’s now used for jogging, but the re-imagined version that will be in Ages of Speed will include a pit area, grandstands, and is sure to be a hit in period vehicles.
