“MOTORSPORT SIMULATIONS GEAR UP FOR MULTI-TITLE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SPORTS CAR CLUB OF AMERICA”

Recently Launched Racing Simulation Company Announce Deal to Create and Publish Retail and Online Properties Based on Sports Car Club of America Sanctioned Racing Events

Las Colinas, TX (Feb. 22, 1999) — Motorsport Simulations today announced the signing of a long-term agreement with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) to develop and publish computer games based on a number of SCCA sanctioned properties. This partnership gives Motorsport Simulations the exclusive rights to the majority of the SCCA’s racing formats and classes, which include Sports Racing (Can-Am, C Sports Racer, Spec Racer Ford), ‘Tin Tops’(sports car and sedan classes), Formula Racing (Formula Atlantic, Formula Continental, Formula Ford) and ProRally (Open, Group 2, Production).

Formally launched in January of 1999, Motorsport Simulations was founded by Internet gaming veteran Bob McCarthy. Beginning this summer, Motorsport Simulations will offer racing enthusiasts state-of-the-art simulation games and online competition in a number of popular racing categories. The company has already announced a long term deal with the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) to produce games based on AMA events, and now adds the SCCA to its list of racing partners which also includes a number of well-known racing competitors, broadcasters and personalities.

“The Sports Car Club of America is the backbone of the automobile racing scene in America. Partnering with the SCCA will enable Motorsport Simulations to bring racing enthusiasts a range of exciting racing titles to suit all tastes. Like the SCCA, Motorsport Simulations has a finger on the pulse of the American racing fan,” notes Motorsport Simulations founder and Chairman Bob McCarthy.

“In addition to sanctioning professional racing series, the Sports Car Club of America encourages racing fans to become participants, as both competitors and officials, through our many local regions and their wide variety of racing events. We recognize that Motorsport Simulations shares similar goals. Their upcoming SCCA racing titles will be a great way for racing fans to enjoy the competitive racing experience,” says SCCA Vice President, Dennis Dean.

Motorsport Simulations plans to release a series of SCCA-licensed titles as standalone retail products, which will also be downloadable and playable online via Motorsport Simulations exclusive Internet racing community. This community will be built upon Motorsport Simulations’ proprietary client server technology that can manage multiple racing arenas simultaneously.

Company founder Bob McCarthy was the chairman of Interactive Creations, the developer and publisher of the popular online aviation simulation Warbirds, and prior to that was a founder of Concentric Networks, a company that provides Internet Protocol-based network services for businesses and consumers. With his background, McCarthy brings to Motorsport Simulations a wealth of experience and understanding of simulations and the online gaming market. He is joined at Motorsport Simulations by a team of motorsport enthusiasts and a number of former Warbirds’ veterans. Motorsport Simulations are involved in a number of partnerships with leading personalities and governing bodies in the world of racing, including the SCCA and the AMA.
