As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.
Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Announced by Dale Earnhardt Jr. on his Twitter, iRacing will be bringing the 1987 Buick LeSabre to their service at some point in the future. Junior also stated exactly why he went for this model over the Pontiac:
This also will make a fine 87 Oldsmobile.
That’s the reason I wanted this car over the more popular 87 Pontiac. The Buick could easily be an Olds as well, so kinda 2 for 1.
