Shortly after the release of Grand Prix Legends the sim racing community looked forward to another title that promised to offer a similar insight into historic racing. Trans-Am Racing ’68-’72 ultimately never released, a victim of a publishers shady dealings, but as a part of my research I uncovered a VHS of a never-released trailer for the game. Watch the trailer and read about what sim racing missed out on.
Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Renato Simioni, head of Reiza Studios, commented in the rFactor 2 forum last weekend and stated that their updates to the rFactor 2 Reiza Pack DLC are done and ready to be tested by Studio 397 prior to release.
The content has updated PBR shaders, new audio and physics revisions. The older Automobilista F-Vee and Metalmoro AJR models were also replaced by higher quality ones from Automobilista 2.
Assuming Studio 397 have the capacity to get the content to release while working on Le Mans Ultimate, I’m hopeful the updated Reiza Pack will release very soon.
Renato’s text:
To say schedule projections for this update have been unreliable would be a massive understatement so without insisting on that mistake, here is is a status update – we have now updated all the content (cars & tracks) to the latest PBR shaders, audio has been updated to better suit the new audio engine and physics revisions are ongoing. To make up for the delays we´ve elected to to replace the older AMS1 F-Vee & Metalmoro AJR models with the latest higher quality ones from AMS2, with liveries likewise updated – previews below.
It´s been a while since we have been in contact with S397 management regarding the Bundle and obviously in this time the studio has gone through some reshuffling, I´m not sure who I should reach out to regarding QA & delivery of these 3rd party content updates so if they could kindly get in touch we are looking forward to advancing this.
