Reiza Studios signed off for the weekend today wishing us all a “fan-tastic” weekend on Twitter. If you look closely at the image they posted along with it you can clearly see a fan car that looks very much like the Brabham BT46B fan car… Coming to Automobilista 2 soon?

The Brabham BT46B fan sucked air from the underbody of the car as a form of ground-effect downforce. It won the only race it entered (1978 Swedish Grand Prix) and was withdrawn from competition by Brabham team boss Bernie Eccelstone after being ruled LEGAL by the FIA. It’s assumed the reason he withdrew it was to persuade the other team owners he was competing against to help him form Formula One Management. He basically sacrificed Brabham success in this era for FOM, his business from 1987-2017.
