Video game development is rarely about one man, but if it was, then Terence Groening should certainly get a mention for his contributions to the genre as the man responsible for the physics of Sportscar GT, EA’s PC F1 and NASCAR games of the early 2000’s, rFactor, rFactor 2 and every title and rFpro simulator that spawned from ISI’s engine.
This interview with RSC details his early life and career, through to him joining iRacing in 2021.
Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Milestone released this new DLC pack for their RIDE 4 title late last week.
The DLC adds:
-KAWASAKI – NINJA ZX-6R (2004)
-KAWASAKI – NINJA ZX-6R- Racing Modified (2005)
-SUZUKI – GSX-R 600 (2009)
-HONDA – CBR 600RR (2018)
-HONDA – CBR 600RR – Racing Modified (2018)
-10 EVENTS
-3 ACHIEVEMENTS
Still not 100% sure what to make of the RIDE series. Unfortunately I have not yet had time to verify that they properly simulate factors of the bikes that would make it class as a simulation. Until I get around to that I will try to cover it when I see something.
