As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.
Shortly after the release of Grand Prix Legends the sim racing community looked forward to another title that promised to offer a similar insight into historic racing. Trans-Am Racing ’68-’72 ultimately never released, a victim of a publishers shady dealings, but as a part of my research I uncovered a VHS of a never-released trailer for the game. Motorsport Games officially announced with the release of the expansion for NASCAR 21: Ignition that they will also be deploying the 2022 content to NASCAR Heat 5 on October 21, 2022. This time it won’t be free though and will instead cost $12.34.
Players will be able to utilize the cars, drivers and teams from the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season in Race Now, Career Mode and Online Multiplayer in NASCAR Heat 5.
I don’t see any NASCAR Heat 5-specific trailer for the 2022 update, but here is the one for NASCAR 21: Ignition:
