Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Video game development is rarely about one man, but if it was, then Terence Groening should certainly get a mention for his contributions to the genre as the man responsible for the physics of Sportscar GT, EA’s PC F1 and NASCAR games of the early 2000’s, rFactor, rFactor 2 and every title and rFpro simulator that spawned from ISI’s engine.
This interview with RSC details his early life and career, through to him joining iRacing in 2021.

Warm up for GTR 2
The successor to the award-winning racing simulation will be released in the summer of 2006.Vara, Sweden / Darmstadt, Germany, January 12, 2006
With the release of GTR – FIA GT Racing Game, Developer SimBin Development Team and Publisher 10tacle Studios AG caused a sensation. Up to that point, there had never been a racing simulation based on a racing series which was accurate down to the last detail, as the numerous top ratings and awards for GTR FIA GT Racing Game so impressively demonstrated. Come summer 2006, GTR 2 will set new standards all over again!
The new DirectX9 graphics engine ensures that the race cars and circuits are portrayed in a more detailed and photorealistic way than ever before, and the sensation of speed experienced with the HP-beasts is even more immersive, thanks to the improved driving model. The dynamic day-night light cycle, weather changes, and impressive damage system once again provides an impressive experience of the exciting FIA GT racing series on your PC at home.
In other words – we are proud to offer the opportunity to really get into the true feeling of real racing in some of the world´s most stunning sport cars. Prepare to GET REAL – again.
