Video game development is rarely about one man, but if it was, then Terence Groening should certainly get a mention for his contributions to the genre as the man responsible for the physics of Sportscar GT, EA’s PC F1 and NASCAR games of the early 2000’s, rFactor, rFactor 2 and every title and rFpro simulator that spawned from ISI’s engine.
This interview with RSC details his early life and career, through to him joining iRacing in 2021.
Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Milestone posted a new preview for MotoGP 22 that showcases the new tutorials and guides that will be in the upcoming simulation. The “MotoGP Academy” might really help some people get used to racing on two wheels in a way that they never have before.
Note that the trailer still shows 2021 liveries.

Text from their Web site:
This year, we have worked to give you all the help you need to have fun on your favorite bike.
If you are a beginner, you can start getting familiar with two wheels thanks to our Tutorial, renewed this year to give you even more effective support.
You will have to face some racetrack tests with several goals to achieve, following specific rules. Initially, you will have to learn the basic controls, follow the ideal trajectory with the curve indicators, respect the penalty system and overtake your teammate. Then you can move on to more advanced challenges, where you’ll have to learn a more strategic approach, checking fuel consumption, tire wear and brakes, managing many other technical aspects as a real rider would.
On the other hand, if you are already an expert rider but you want to become a real Pro, the MotoGP™ Academy is the place you’re looking for. This new mode will put you in front of the 21 official MotoGP™ tracks: each of them will offer you 5 different time challenges, the first 4 linked to individual sectors of the circuit and the last to the whole track. For each challenge you’ll have to beat 3 times: bronze, silver and gold. You’ll need to get at least a bronze in the first 4 challenges to be able to access the last step on the complete circuit. On-screen tips will help you to better face these challenges, and when you’ll reach the best time, a ghost will be generated and become your next goal.
After this intense training, you will be ready for the real race! Choose your game mode and try to set the Race Options and Riding Helps based on your real skills. How? No worries, we will help you!
Each of your performances in Time Attack, Single Grand Prix, Championship, Career and NINE Season 2009, will be associated with an analysis that will evaluate your experience and your ability to overcome the several obstacles that can happen in a race. It will be the game itself to evaluate if the Race Options and Riding Helps you have chosen have been set with the difficulty level that suits you best and to give you the right suggestions to take the most appropriate actions. Now all you have to do is test yourself and become the greatest on the track!
