Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Asobo, known today as the Microsoft Flight Simulator developer, created groundbreaking technology for large scale maps that was intended to be used in a high quality rally raid title. It was never released and ended up as FUEL, a post-apocalyptic open-world racing game. What happened?
Saber have posted a new trailer for Dakar Desert Rally five months after their last content release and fully six months after their last post-release trailer. The game itself released almost a year ago.
While I believe Dakar Desert Rally is still a good game, having reviewed it as such, the timing of this new trailer seems extremely weird. Where’s the update?
Update:
Saber have tweeted to say that the update should be expected by Q4 2023:
Our team is working hard to bring the next major content update.
We don’t have precise release information yet, but we can confirm that we are targeting by the end of this year.
We’ll share more information as we have it. Thank you for your patience and ongoing enthusiasm!
