It didn’t come “within days” as previously announced, or indeed on October 21, 2022 as originally announced, but it did come. Motorsport Games have now released the 2022 “Next Gen” car update for NASCAR Heat 5.

The update includes all three Next Gen (current now, surely) vehicles as well as the primary schemes for the entire team and driver roster from the 2022 season. This content will be playable in “Race Now,” “Career Mode,” and “Online Multiplayer” modes.

You can buy the Steam version here for $9.99.

Here are the issues a user immediately notified me about on Twitter:

No setups, removes option to have own team & custom car in career, as well as preventing inclusionnof other 3 series into career mode unless you go back to the old base game.

AI is buggy, particularly at Bristol Dirt.

Players reporting loss of career save/corrupted files

Schedule is incorrect, track logos have not been updated to reflect 2022 season.

Players have reported crashing when trying to play.

DLC makes 2023 mod unplayable.

AI speed vs player speed heavily inconsistent.
