In this interview, published in 2022, we discuss his time at the legendary studio and the design of Grand Prix Legends, including initial feelings of hurt at not being asked to join iRacing.

Asobo, known today as the Microsoft Flight Simulator developer, created groundbreaking technology for large scale maps that was intended to be used in a high quality rally raid title. It was never released and ended up as FUEL, a post-apocalyptic open-world racing game. What happened?

GameCenter have posted some more information on how the NASCAR Racing 2 multiplayer will work on TEN, detailing skill rankings, schedules and more. Check it out below:

Back in December, Gamecenter broke the news that Papyrus, NASCAR, and TEN were teaming up to create the 13th official NASCAR Racing division, NASCAR Racing Online (NRO). We have recently learned the details of how the races will be run and won.

All the sanctioned races and competitions are going to be based on a player’s skill-level rating, which will vary from 0 to 15. If lower-rated players finish ahead of higher-rated players in an NRO sanctioned race, they will earn more points–which will ultimately decide the winner.

For those competing in one of the five simulation circuits offered, sanctioned championships will be held quarterly and annually, with registered racers being required to enter at least one race per week. The top three quarterly point earners from each division will be entered into the annual finals.

Those racing in the three arcade circuits will participate in monthly championships, as opposed to quarterly racing heats. The top two point earners from each month will be entered into the year-end finals. Then, the eight annual winners (three from the arcade and five from the simulation finals) will be flown to Daytona, Florida, to hang out and schmooze with other NASCAR champions.

In addition to the sanctioned races, there will be two other types of online contests to enter. The first will be pickup races set up on NRO. These will vary from completely open to restricted by skill level. The second type of nonsanctioned online race will be user-created, which will allow anyone to create his or her own league on NRO.

Look for more racing news to appear on Gamecenter as the May launch of NRO on TEN approaches.
