An Interview with Terence Groening; Master of Physics

Video game development is rarely about one man, but if it was, then Terence Groening should certainly get a mention for his contributions to the genre as the man responsible for the physics of Sportscar GT, EA’s PC F1 and NASCAR games of the early 2000’s, rFactor, rFactor 2 and every title and rFpro simulator that spawned from ISI’s engine.

This interview with RSC details his early life and career, through to him joining iRacing in 2021.

Brabham BT24

Generally credited with being the car that won the 1967 title, the Brabham-Repco BT24 ran in eight of the 12 races, winning three times and taking 11 podiums that year.

World Champion Denny Hulme and team owner Jack Brabham also drove the BT19 and BT20 earlier in the season.

Volvo: The Game

Volvo Car Corporation and SimBin Development Team released Volvo: The Game in May, 2009. It was completely free, and could be downloaded originally from the Volvo Web site. A fairly interesting marketing experience, the software was downloaded more than 50,000 times in two days.

It included the Volvo S60 Concept road car and Volvo S40, Volvo 850 Estate, Volvo 240, Volvo C30, Volvo S60 race cars. Just two circuits were included: Gothenburg Eco Drive Arena, Sweden and Autodrome Chayka, Ukraine.

It is their first title to be released as an Epic Store exclusive for it’s first year and became available on Steam September 8, 2020.

Their sixth rally title, it includes more realistic gameplay and more content than WRC 8, including three new rallies, 35 new special stages, custom championships and completely redesigned engine sounds.
