Shortly after the release of Grand Prix Legends the sim racing community looked forward to another title that promised to offer a similar insight into historic racing. Trans-Am Racing ’68-’72 ultimately never released, a victim of a publishers shady dealings, but as a part of my research I uncovered a VHS of a never-released trailer for the game. Watch the trailer and read about what sim racing missed out on.
As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.
SIMBIN today released a hi-res WMV of their Games Convention Trailer for GT Legends. You can check it out below.

Games Convention Trailer for GT LEGENDS available for download
The historic motor sports simulation celebrates its world premiere on Europe’s biggest game trade show.Darmstadt, 12 August 2005: For the first time publisher 10TACLE STUDIOS and developer SimBin present the car racing highlight of this coming autumn “GT Legends” to the general public on the Games Convention in Leipzig in hall three on booth B02. Attractive hostesses and four simulators will be there in the racing area in order to revive the adventure of historic racing. At the steering wheel of an untamed Corvette the unique spirit of motor sports of the ’60s and ’70s is brought back to life. The official trailer with new captivating scenes to be presented on the GC serves as a little taster of the yardstick for racing games that will be released in October.
Just like its internationally praised predecessor “GTR – FIA GT Racing Game” this simulation also stands out due to its love for details and a highly realistic representation of the cars and the circuits. “GT Legends” lives up to all expectations thanks to its outstanding graphics, challenging AI and a revamped game concept. The demo version will also be available on the home page www.gt-legends.com from next week onwards and on the DVDs and CDs of the popular computer games magazines.
