The Unreleased GPL-Like Genre-Defining Historic Trans-Am Simulation

Shortly after the release of Grand Prix Legends the sim racing community looked forward to another title that promised to offer a similar insight into historic racing. Trans-Am Racing ’68-’72 ultimately never released, a victim of a publishers shady dealings, but as a part of my research I uncovered a VHS of a never-released trailer for the game. Watch the trailer and read about what sim racing missed out on.

SIMBIN have announced that they won “best sports game” at E3 this year.

Press release:

GT LEGENDS elected best sports game at the E3
The successor of the internationally awarded racing game simulation “GTR – FIA GT Racing Game” convinces the press

Darmstadt (Germany), 3nd of June 2005: This year, the 10TACLE STUDIOS were present for the first time at the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) in Los Angeles. With their focus title, the racing game simulation “GT Legends”, they were able to convince public and press altogether. Numerous domestic and foreign media, amongst them the established German magazines Gamestar and PCGames, elected “GT Legends” as “the best sports game of the E3”! But it wasn´t just the trade fair visitors who could catch a glimpse of the new simulation of the SimBin development team; simultaneously, the first trailer with the historical racing game event was published on the official homepage www.gt-legends.com, registering a high number of downloads.

“Our E3 appearance has been a complete success. GT Legends enthused both the invited media as well as our sales and distribution partners. With this title in the portfolio, we look into the future with a more than positive outlook. We were also able to introduce the future line-up to all relevant distribution and technology partners, and we are very satisfied with the results,” says Frank Holz, Director Marketing & Sales, 10TACLE STUDIOS AG, about the successful debut.
