One of the most dominant cars ever seen in motorsport the McLaren MP4/4 really should have won every race during the 1988 season – and came close to doing so. Powered by a Honda RA168 turbocharged V6 engine it took 15 poles and 15 wins from the 16 races that year, giving it a 93.8% winning percentage, and only losing one race at Monza due to a collision with a lapped car.
Ayrton Senna took his first world title in this car, and McLaren won the constructors title for 1988.
