As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.
Sector3 Studios today surprised most of us by releasing the Porsche 911 RSR (2019) and Daytona International Speedway to their Raceroom title. Daytona is, of course, home to the annual Daytona 24h and it is one of the most popular tracks in the United States. The Porsche is suitable for the FIA World Endurance Championship and the North American IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
