Licensed Holden Cars Coming in Dirt Track Racing Australia

Ratbag have today announced that they will be releasing a special version of DTR for Australia that includes licensing for Holden cars, including the 1968 HK Monaro, 1972 LJ Torana, 1976 LX Torana,1977 Kingswood and the VB, VT and SS Commodores.

Australian first for Dirt Track Racing

PC racing games specialist Ratbag is giving its highly rated Dirt Track Racing a uniquely Australian feel after securing licensing rights to race Holden cars.

The South Australian-produced game will make its Australian debut this month (November) after being a major hit in the United States.

Dirt Track Racing sold out within two days of its launch in the US last year and was voted Racing Game of the Year by America’s leading gaming magazine Computer Gaming World.

Ratbag director Greg Siegele said the game had been specially modified for the Australian market, with racers able to take the wheel of classic Holden cars and pit them against US models.

“Dirt Track Racing has been highly rated for its realism and we decided to make it even more real for Australian gamers by using Australian cars,” Mr Siegele said. “This is a first for the Australian market.”

Seven Holdens have been licensed by Ratbag from the old to the most modern – the 1968 HK Monaro, 1972 LJ Torana, 1976 LX Torana,1977 Kingswood and the VB, VT and SS Commodores.

Dirt Track Racing Australia captures the overall experience of competition racing on dirt and clay, including realistic simulation, tuning and upgrading of vehicles and progression through various series.

Players can select from 30 tracks, 25 different vehicles, three separate classes and eight series.

Prize money is won by the players, which can be spent on purchasing new vehicles, upgrades, repairs, spare parts and entry fees.

Dirt Track Racing Australia will be available from November 29 and will retail at $49.95.
