Shortly after the release of Grand Prix Legends the sim racing community looked forward to another title that promised to offer a similar insight into historic racing. Trans-Am Racing ’68-’72 ultimately never released, a victim of a publishers shady dealings, but as a part of my research I uncovered a VHS of a never-released trailer for the game. Watch the trailer and read about what sim racing missed out on.
As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.
After a little bit of speculation within the community that I have seen, I saw an answer today on social media from Kylotonn and figured I would share it:
As Rally Monza was added late in the 2021 WRC Calendar we cannot add it to WRC 10.
This is a bit of a disappointment for many, especially because this same location was missing from WRC 9 (based on 2020) and the location was used as a schedule filler for 2020 as well during the height of the pandemic. While I can understand the difficulties involved in getting something built like this, especially if your company isn’t huge, it’s still a bit sad that the season simulation is incomplete.
Kylotonn did have some other news, updating their roadmap information:
• The November Update will be live on November 25!
• The Teams Online is being delayed to January.
• The January Update will also include preparations for the next #esportsWRC Season.
