As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.

Shortly after the release of Grand Prix Legends the sim racing community looked forward to another title that promised to offer a similar insight into historic racing. Trans-Am Racing ’68-’72 ultimately never released, a victim of a publishers shady dealings, but as a part of my research I uncovered a VHS of a never-released trailer for the game. Watch the trailer and read about what sim racing missed out on.

A couple of days ago the RSC YouTube Channel passed 8000 hours of viewership on YouTube. This was helped a lot by the recent Dakar Desert Rally Review video which currently has 6,847 views and 563.7 hours watched. We’re not a big channel by any means (and most of the videos are extremely short), but it’s quite nice to hit this 8000-hour milestone. The best way to support the channel is by subscribing, which basically raises the likely minimum views any posted video will get.

The next big review will be the Logitech Pro Direct Drive wheel, so please subscribe for that. I’m also planning to try to acquire an RTX 4090 upon release and will do some direct comparisons between framerate on all the big sims with my current 3090. Fingers crossed they don’t sell out too quickly… If I don’t get one within the first day or two then I’ll probably not do that video. In the meantime I also have a few Richard Burns Rally stages to edit and upload.
