SIMBIN today announced their upcoming RACE WTCC simulation title will release towards the end of the year.

Press release:

RACE blew the GC audience away
With a much anticipated press conference at the Games Convention, SimBin´s new title RACE was presented and demonstrated for the invited key attendants from media, publishing and distribution.

After the presentation, SimBin was bombarded with questions and greetings from the amazed audience; it was a warm welcome for the game to say the least.

RACE is the official game of the WTCC series, developed by SimBin, and the release on PC has been set to Q4 2006.

Henrik Roos, CEO of SimBin, and Francois Ribiero, Commercial Director of WTCC at Eurosport, presented the game and the cooperation with Eurosport and the car manufacturers participating in the WTCC.

This brand new title, which at this point is in Pre-Alpha stage, was tested by media and the feedback was overwhelming as it, already at this point, is clearly visible that RACE will be pushing technology and the sensation of interaction and action in racing games further than any previous title from SimBin. The game also proved that the nature and characteristics of the WTCC cars makes out for a good entry level in the game, since the cars used are racing versions of normal street cars seen on the roads every day.

Additionally it was also announced that RACE, next to the WTCC features also will contain support classes related to the WTCC series, adding new cars and excitement to the product to ensure a great variety of racing styles and more exiting cars. Details on these support classes will be revealed later.

Over all the SimBin display at the Games Convention had a lot of visitors – media, business and public. With four play seats and the big SimBin G-force simulator in the stand the lines of people wanting to try the new game RACE were never ending…
