Asobo, known today as the Microsoft Flight Simulator developer, created groundbreaking technology for large scale maps that was intended to be used in a high quality rally raid title. It was never released and ended up as FUEL, a post-apocalyptic open-world racing game. What happened?
As a direct ancestor of iRacing, the ‘Grand Prix Legends engine’ had multiple stock car racing false starts, before eventually releasing as NASCAR Racing 4. The original NASCAR 3, cancelled and replaced by one that used NASCAR 2’s engine, is barely remembered.
Milestone have released a new patch for Ride 5 today that fixes multiple issues with Race Director Mode, allowing users to setup racing lobbies and more.
Changelog:
– fixed problem changing category to a DLC
– now changing position on the starting grid works correctly
– races positions are correctly shown after penalties
– fixed bug with maximum number of players reached before the lobby is full
– race director now can see the remaining time in qualifying session
– race director now can see the correct tire temperature of players
– disqualified riders now are not visible on track
– disqualified riders are removed from pre-race leaderboard
– race director HUD works correctly after pause
– fixed timer overlap after qualifying session
– minor fixes
