Press release:

Motorsport Simulations Announces the Acquisition Of Tantrum Entertainment
Two Leading Racing Simulation Companies Join Forces to Bring Top Notch Racing Entertainment to the PC

Irving, Texas – April 6, 2000 – Motorsport Simulations, Inc. (Motorsims), creators of PC racing simulations and the Motorsims Racing Network™ online community, today announced the acquisition of the game assets of Tantrum Entertainment, Inc. Tantrum Entertainment is best known for the drag racing simulation NHRA Drag Racing and the NHRA Off-Line Racing League, originally released in August 1998. Motorsims offers authentic racing through state-of-the-art computer simulations for multi-player Internet and stand-alone PC racing.

Tantrum Entertainment, Inc. was formed by race fans in 1996 to bring the sport of drag racing to the computer. The members of Tantrum recognized that this was long overdue and with the advent of 3D gaming technology, determined it was time to bring the sport of drag racing to the PC. In addition to being the exclusive licensee of the National Hot Rod Association for all forms of computer gaming, Tantrum has partnered with the NHRA and the professional teams to make sure that NHRA Drag Racing is a faithful representation of the sport.

“With Motorsims producing top racing titles supported by online game play and a worldwide motorsports community, it did not take me long to realize that this was going to be the perfect fit,” said Tony Simerman, Co-founder and President of Tantrum. “Motorsims was already there with the launch of Moto1.net and their vision for Internet racing.”

Motorsims will be re-releasing NHRA Drag Racing under the Motorsims name on May 1, 2000. This product is the only officially licensed product from the National Hot Rod Association and will encompass all of the game play of the sport of professional drag racing. Real-life drag racers, including Ron Capps and Whit Bazemore, have used the game to practice before actual NHRA events.

2-2-2 Motorsims / Tantrum Press Release

Motorsims is also in full development of the upcoming title SCCA Trans-Am and with the addition of Tantrum the title should be better than ever. “We here at Motorsims strive to make the best and most enjoyable racing sims available on the market and with the addition of Tantrum we feel that this goal can be accomplished better than ever before,” said Bob McCarthy, founder and CEO of Motorsims. “Tony Simerman really has a feel for what we are trying to accomplish here at Motorsims, so it made sense to me that we bring him on board with us.”
