Asobo, known today as the Microsoft Flight Simulator developer, created groundbreaking technology for large scale maps that was intended to be used in a high quality rally raid title. It was never released and ended up as FUEL, a post-apocalyptic open-world racing game. What happened?
GT Interactive have released a pack of screenshots that in some cases we have seen before, just not in their original resolution. What I find most interesting, however, is the appearance of translucent dust. This pretty much guarantees that this software will feature support for hardware rendering.
