EA Sports have released their yearly update for the F1 franchise. I have felt, and even reviewed, that they appear to have gone backwards year on year since EA took over Codemasters, but early reports suggest this one is a step in the right direction. Though I won’t be reviewing it.

Press release

A NEW CHAPTER AWAITS IN EA SPORTS™ F1® 25
Take centre stage in EA SPORTS™ F1® 25, releasing worldwide on May 30 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

As Formula 1® celebrates its 75th anniversary, F1® 25 reflects the real-world sport’s biggest driver line-up change in years, featuring six rookie drivers and the landmark move of seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, who makes the unprecedented switch from Mercedes to Ferrari.

As the F1® 25 Iconic Edition cover star, fans of Lewis and Ferrari will be able to show their support with a number of in-game perks tied to that edition of the game.

With new stars trying to make a name for themselves, established drivers challenging for podiums, and drivers aiming for a World Championship on a new team, F1® 25 lets you re-create every breathtaking moment through single-player and new collaborative options.

Blockbuster Action at Every Turn
Take the spotlight and experience the latest instalment of the fan-favourite story mode, Braking Point, with Konnersport taking the fight to the biggest names on the grid.

Hot off the heels of the 2023 season and under new ownership, the familiar faces of Callie Mayer, Aiden Jackson, and of course, Devon Butler, make their return. However, with a dramatic event threatening to derail their title aspirations, will you have what it takes to steer the team to championship glory?

Featuring rebalanced difficulty options that cater to new and veteran players, decisions you make will have an impact on how this thrilling chapter unfolds.

And that’s not all. The on-track drama ramps up with “F1® The Movie”, Hollywood’s summer action film, with the APXGP team playable across My Team and Driver Career and a number of post-launch gameplay chapters inspired by the film.***

My Team and Circuit Upgrades
Speaking of My Team, the popular mode receives its biggest overhaul since it was introduced in F1® 2020, challenging you to call the shots as the owner of your F1® team. Take on new responsibilities before getting behind the wheel as either of the team’s drivers.

On track, F1® 25 continues to innovate through the power of its EGO engine. Unlocking increased circuit authenticity made possible through LIDAR technology, several tracks and their surroundings are transformed with a more realistic look and feel.

“F1 25 delivers more ways for players to experience Formula 1 and race their way, from the drama of Braking Point to making headlines in the pursuit of World Championship glory. This year, there are new opportunities for players to connect, collaborate, and compete than ever before. We look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks.”
Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters
