Better known today as the developer of Skyrim and Fallout, Bethesda once had a well-respected racing game franchise and were deep into development of a licensed Skip Barber Racing title that never released.
Video game development is rarely about one man, but if it was, then Terence Groening should certainly get a mention for his contributions to the genre as the man responsible for the physics of Sportscar GT, EA’s PC F1 and NASCAR games of the early 2000’s, rFactor, rFactor 2 and every title and rFpro simulator that spawned from ISI’s engine.
This interview with RSC details his early life and career, through to him joining iRacing in 2021.
Digital Bros, owner of 505 Games and Kunos Simulazioni, posted an earnings report today detailing financials up to December 31, 2023. The report shows that the company revenue decreased significantly compared to the year before and listed a net loss of 6.4M Euros. Assetto Corsa, however, is as strong as ever and doing an incredible job of propping up the finances, doing 12.2M Euros in revenue alone.
While previewing their business outlook for 2024, they also mentioned that the “launch of the Season 2024 pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione” will release “on April 1st, 2024”, confirming once again that the Nürburgring Nordscheifle will feature.

The pack was initially teased all the way back in November and certainly does seem to have been delayed for some reason to have then taken this long. I’m hopeful things are still running ok within the studio, especially considering there is no mention within this report of Assetto Corsa 2 impacting company finances.
