F1 24, a title that isn’t released or marketing as a title with ongoing development (like, for example, iRacing), released the fourteenth patch for their flagship racing title today. While this would seem to indicate that there is a problem in testing or late stage development, it actually shows me just how hard they’re willing to work to try to make it right.

v1.13 Patch (PlayStation only):

The following features are included in this patch for those playing F1® 24 on a PS5® Pro:

Quality Mode – 4K/60Hz with on-track Ray Tracing
The Quality mode on PS5® Pro is upgraded from the PS5®. We are using Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to include more Ray Traced techniques on track for more photorealism whilst maintaining the 4K/60Hz target.

Performance Mode – 120Hz Mode now upgraded to 4K
We upgraded the 120Hz Mode currently running at 1440p on the PS5® to 4K on PS5® Pro. Players with a compatible 120hz screen choosing this high frame-rate will enjoy a crisp, smooth experience and extra clarity from the increased resolution.

Resolution Mode – A new 60Hz 8K Mode
The new 8K/60Hz Resolution Mode is a significant upgrade to the clarity and detail possible on PS5®, and is available only for players with 8K resolution screens and with 8K enabled in PS5® Pro console system settings.
Each of these graphics options are available to be selected from the settings menu.

v1.14 Patch

Visual Improvements
Updates for track side elements to bring better quality reflections and a more realistic appearance
All game modes and platforms have benefited from updates to materials used for track side elements such as sponsor boards, fences, panels, concrete barriers, and lights, with additional tweaks to shaders. These updates offer better quality reflections and a more realistic appearance overall but are especially noticeable on metallic textures and during wet conditions.

Updates to the Las Vegas environment, including real-world hotel branding and the animated Sphere for PC, PS5®, and Xbox Series Consoles
Iconic real-world Las Vegas hotels and casinos such as Caesars Palace and the MGM Grand have been represented in this update, replacing some of the fictional names on buildings around the street circuit. Additionally, Sphere now features a set of animations, similar to what you would expect to see on the real thing.

Improved Ray Tracing to generate cleaner images from the simulated light in real-time (PC, PS5®, and Xbox Series only)
We have updated the denoiser (a crucial set of algorithms used in Ray Tracing) to generate cleaner images from the simulated light in real-time. This allows things such as vehicle halos to be seen reflected on car bodywork, or glass on the start/finish straight at Albert Park to reflect their surroundings more accurately and with more clarity.

Improved the visual quality of spray from tyres in wet weather
At times, spray coming off tyres in wet conditions would look blocky and low resolution. This update aims to improve the effect of this spray, ultimately improving the look of wet weather conditions.

Reduced the amount of smoke generated by wheel spins and lockups in multiplayer sessions to prevent visibility issues
Depending on the circumstances, excessive smoke could be produced in situations where lots of cars are on the same stretch of track, such as during race starts. This update aims to reduce the time that tyre smoke stays around, improving visibility for those driving through it.

Minor visual improvements to a variety of F1 vehicle textures
Improvements to a variety of F2™ 2024 vehicle liveries and suits
Bug Fixes
Career
Fixed an issue where there would sometimes be a long pause before the Engineer tutorial played in the first session of a My Team Career

Added support for AMD FSR 3 on PC
Various UI Improvements

v1.15 Hotfix

Reduced the amount of smoke generated during wheelspins, lockups, and when driving off the track to prevent visibility issues.

v1.16 Patch Notes

Updated sponsors on the Williams, Haas, and McLaren cars.
The Williams car now features Globant and Mercado Libre logos, the Haas car has been updated to add Toyota Gazoo Racing and Orion 180 branding, and the Darktrace logos on the McLaren have been recoloured.

Fixed an issue which in some instances caused graphical issues for people with certain Anti-Aliasing options and Dynamic Resolution Enabled (PC Only)
Following the v1.16 update, options relating to Anti-Aliasing, DLSS, FSR, and/or Dynamic Resolution may have been reset. Be sure to check the in-game Graphics settings to ensure that these options are to your liking.

Added support for XeSS 2, which will be enabled on supporting hardware with an upcoming driver update from Intel (PC Only)
When using compatible hardware, F1® 24 will support higher frame rates and smoother gameplay using XeSS Frame Generation (XeSS-FG) through AI-based frame interpolation. When paired with Xe Low Latency (XeLL), this reduces input delay for a more immersive experience.

The visual quality of Ray Traced reflections on the interior of the cockpit has been improved (PS5® Pro Only)
Fixed an issue which applied too much engine heat haze when spectating an AI during a replay
Added a couple of additional updates to the Las Vegas environment
Miscellaneous
Added the Player Hub option to the Main Menu
The Player Hub is where players can check Podium Pass, Store, Friends List, Mail, and Super License. This has been added to the Main Menu screen and will show a yellow notification marker when there’s something new to view. The Player Hub can still be accessed when in other areas of the game, by pressing the corresponding button shown in the top right corner of the screen.

AI Difficulty between 101-110 has been increased to give experienced players a harder challenge
Following feedback from the community, an adjustment has been made to add an extra challenge for those playing at the highest difficulty levels. This change results in around a one tenth decrease in lap time for those competing against 110 AI compared to pre-patch performance. This difference varies slightly depending on the circuit you are racing on.

Added the ability to export session results for certain multiplayer modes (PC only)
This additional feature adds an Export Session Results option on the race results screen in Multiplayer Grand Prix and Leagues. When selected, this exports a .csv file into your F1 24 Folder in My Games. This file contains all the information from the Results screen along with all Incidents and Pit Stops which took place during the race for players and AI.

Additionally, a new option has been added to the Legal and Privacy menu in Settings in the Main Menu. Here you can turn “Show Name in Export Session Results” On or Off to decide whether to allow your Username to be seen by other players when they export session results.
