Asobo, known today as the Microsoft Flight Simulator developer, created groundbreaking technology for large scale maps that was intended to be used in a high quality rally raid title. It was never released and ended up as FUEL, a post-apocalyptic open-world racing game. What happened?
Shortly after the release of Grand Prix Legends the sim racing community looked forward to another title that promised to offer a similar insight into historic racing. Trans-Am Racing ’68-’72 ultimately never released, a victim of a publishers shady dealings, but as a part of my research I uncovered a VHS of a never-released trailer for the game. Milestone have released a new patch for Ride 5 today that fixes multiple issues with Race Director Mode, allowing users to setup racing lobbies and more.
Changelog:
– fixed problem changing category to a DLC
– now changing position on the starting grid works correctly
– races positions are correctly shown after penalties
– fixed bug with maximum number of players reached before the lobby is full
– race director now can see the remaining time in qualifying session
– race director now can see the correct tire temperature of players
– disqualified riders now are not visible on track
– disqualified riders are removed from pre-race leaderboard
– race director HUD works correctly after pause
– fixed timer overlap after qualifying session
– minor fixes
