Motorsims today announced that AMA Superbike has gone gold, which means it has gone to a producer for CD duplication.

Press release:

MOTORSIMS’ AMA SUPERBIKE GOES GOLD
Superbike Racing Game Ready to Ride to Retail

Las Colinas, TX (June 26, 1999) – Motorsport Simulations (Motorsims) today announced that AMA Superbike, the first game to be developed by Motorsims, has gone Gold. Officially licensed by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), this racing simulation will appeal to all fans of high-speed gaming. The standalone version of AMA Superbike will be available at retail in late September.

“AMA Superbike is the first serious motorcycle simulation to be designed with today’s racing enthusiast in mind,” said Marc Portugal, Motorsims Director of Marketing. “Now that it has gone Gold, all gamers will soon be able to experience for themselves Motorsims’ dedication to creating the most accurate and exciting racing simulation available.”

AMA Superbike is packed with realistic Superbike racing features. This deluxe standalone game features up to 30 computer-controlled opponents, ‘career’ and ‘training’ modes, and a strategy guide to Superbike racing by noted expert Lance Holst. It also includes five fully configurable Superbikes and nine accurately modeled racing venues, including Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Road America and Mid-Ohio. In-game physics are modeled by actual vehicle dynamics physicists to the highest level of accuracy for an unprecedented Superbike simulation experience. Top racing consultants, such as Superbike Champion Dave Sadowski, also added input and instruction regarding racing realism and accuracy.

In addition to the single-player game, Motorsims is dedicated to creating an Internet virtual racing community. Motorsims is currently developing the Motorsims Racing Networkä to facilitate the large number of racing enthusiasts it expects. The network will include ‘Roger Wilco’ voice-chat support, Marimba’s Castanet® automatic updating, and editorial commentary and analysis by Superbike Champion Dave Sadowski.
