It’s bike-sim season, and Milestone Executive Producer Michele Caletti was on a livestream today with host Gavin Emmett to talk about the upcoming MotoGP 21 release. You can view the whole stream and watch the Portimao footage below, but here are the nuggets of new information:
– Will be released on Steam and Epic Games on April 22, 2021.
– Portimao will be officially included in MotoGP 21 having been converted from RIDE 4.
– You can select whether to have a real-world 2021 calendar or COVID-19-affected schedule.
– MotoE will be added as a future update.
– Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup to be added in a later update (soon after release).
– New realism features include brake temperatures (selection of high or low mass brakes, pad type, etc), long lap penalties (an extra loop to lose a rider a small amount of time), bike retrieval (when you fall you run to get your bike instead of ghosting back on track). They can be turned off. Bike retrieval is player-only for now. Added to AI and multiplayer racing in a later update.
– Difficulty settings have been adjusted to use full physics and apply aids to those rather than altered physics/handling. This should allow people to more easily transition to turning off rider aids.
– Career mode again has a full junior team mode with team management, financial management and create your own team options.
