Brabham BT46B

The Brabham BT46B ‘fan car’ was designed to suck air from underneath the car, generating extremely high levels of grip as a response to the ground effect downforce of the Lotus 79. It won the only race it ran, the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix, before the team withdrew it from competition.

Finally! Monster Games and iRacing have today posted a teaser trailer for their upcoming World of Outlaws game and in the process both confirmed the official title and release date; World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing will be released on XBox One, Xbox X/S, PS4 and PS5 on September 27, 2022. Until today all we’ve seen are track announcements since first announced back in April.

The title will use iRacing’s car and track assets, which really does make this a very cost effective title. You can clearly see an array of winged Sprint Cars, Dirt Modifieds and lower level dirt series will be included. I think it looks great, and if I really had to pick out anything negative it would be the post processing that is very common in games these days, but poorly suited to racing games giving the non-focal object a grainy appearance. It’ll be mostly noticable in replays rather than in-cockpit. This is seen on PC simulations as well, but on PC if you system specs are good enough you can usually turn them off for better details.

Here is the information from the end of the trailer:

Text from their news post:

As shown in the opening round broadcast of the iRacing World of Outlaws ButtKicker Late Model Series earlier tonight, as well as on DirtVision, check out the first teaser clip from World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing right here!

World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing is the first release from developer Monster Games since its acquisition by iRacing. The game, which will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on September 27, marks the return of the World ofOutlaws to console gaming for the first time in nearly two decades. World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing builds upon the long-established and successful Monster Games platform with the support of iRacing, and includes certain iRacing assets—including art and an improved physics model—on console for the first time.

The teaser clip showcases the complement of sprint car, late model, and even street stock racing that players will be able to enjoy upon release. In addition, the clip showcases many of the officially licensed cars and tracks that are slated to appear in the title. A total of more than 40 tracks, including 13 officially licensed tracks, will appear in World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing; the list of previously announced tracks appearing in the game can be found here.

A full gameplay trailer for World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing will be released in the next month. In the meantime, to stay up to date on all the latest news about the title, visit www.worldofoutlawsgame.com. For more information on iRacing and for special offers, visit www.iracing.com.
