iRacing and Monster games have today announced the September 17, 2024 release of World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing ’24 for PlayStation and Xbox. The previous title was very well received and is a very good game, so adding the new content, challenges, deeper career, variable track grip and improving the graphics will really help establish the franchise. Maybe this time they’ll even do some marketing.

Press release:

New release from iRacing features all-new game modes, tracks, cars, and much more

iRacing and the World of Outlaws are pleased to announce World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24, the sequel to the incredibly popular and well-received World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing.

The next installment in the franchise will deploy for PlayStation and Xbox consoles on Sept. 17, with the Gold Edition releasing one week earlier. It’ll again feature the cars and stars of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series, Super DIRTcar Series, Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and more – including the addition of the American Sprint Car Series.

“We’re incredibly excited to unveil World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24,” said iRacing’s Richard Garcia. “The original World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing was a huge success, and we can’t wait to take the franchise to another level with our newest release. Our team has been working extensively to make an even more fun and realistic game based on the 2024 season, and we know World of Outlaws fans will love getting back to ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ when it releases in September!”

“I can’t wait for racing fans and gaming fans to play World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24, as it brings them another step closer to feeling the same level of intensity and excitement our drivers experience every race night,” said Brian Carter, World of Outlaws CEO. “The team at iRacing have done an incredible job in developing a game that is not only fun, but also immerses you in ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ with iconic racetracks and legendary drivers.”

The original World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing was released in fall 2022, bringing the World of Outlaws back to console gaming for the first time in a decade. The game received a 2023 season update last fall that added even more new cars, tracks, and drivers. Both versions of the game were championed by the dirt racing community as the sport’s new standard for console gaming, with iRacing’s acquisition of Monster Games in late 2021 serving to take Monster’s existing and industry-leading platform to the next level with retooled physics and AI.

World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 builds upon this foundation with all-new experiences and further refinements. The new title prominently features Sprint Car legend Donny Schatz, who will serve as your mentor and racing benchmark as you progress through the game. You’ll have the chance to try and beat Schatz’s 10 World of Outlaws championships and more than 300 career race victories as you race on some of the most exciting and well-known dirt ovals in America.

Other improvements to World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 include the following:

Donny’s Outlaw Training: Go through a set of 19 unique challenges designed to hone your dirt racing skills, with ratings from Donny Schatz after each challenge and exclusive unlockables.
Deeper Career Mode: A new, easier-to-navigate, pathway leads you from the local ranks to becoming a World of Outlaws racing legend!
Visual Upgrades: From an all-new interface and garage environment to a more colorful HUD and more immersive race sessions, our best-looking title to date.
More Realistic On-Track Experience: Variable track grip sees tracks change throughout the night, while an adjustable wing allows you to change downforce on the fly and get aggressive to go for the win.
New Cars and Tracks: Additional licensed tracks and series will be represented across the base game as well as downloadable content.
Complete Roster Update: Race with the stars of the 2024 season at every level, with updated paint schemes and all-new schedules.

Good to know it's not just me noticing. THEY felt ignored...

THEY simply didn't push the product. I was told I would get a review key and if it was good I'd have happily sung it's praises - I didn't get one.

Maybe this time... :)
